The B.C. government’s work to connect all British Columbians to high-speed internet continues with more than $38 million in federal, provincial and partner funding for five major connectivity projects in rural and First Nations and Indigenous communities, Minister of Citizens’ Services Jinny Sims announced today.

The review panel for the K-12 Public Education Funding Review has been selected by Minister of Education Rob Fleming, and the guiding principles for a new funding model have been finalized. 

The Province’s Forest Inventory Program will be reviewed to ensure it accurately reflects the changed nature of British Columbia’s forests over the last few years, Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development Minister Doug Donaldson announced today.

This month, the B.C. government distributed over $16 million to 54 communities around the province in lieu of municipal property taxes.

As part of the $1.1-million provincial investment to assist tourism in wildfire-affected areas, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture is encouraging British Columbians to lend their support by visiting these areas over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
