Premier John Horgan announced four high-profile appointments today, aimed at delivering the government’s commitments to offer relief for families on hydro rates, auto insurance costs and housing affordability.

Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations John Rustad has issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Commerce preliminary determination of anti-dumping duties of 6.87% to be applied to the majority of Canadian softwood lumber shipments entering the U.S.

Provincial health officer Dr. Perry Kendall has issued the following statement: 

The B.C. government is providing more than $1 million in grants to six Habitat for Humanity B.C. affiliates that will be used to build new affordable homes in Campbell River, Mission, Nanaimo, Richmond, Sechelt and Vernon.

The British Columbia government is providing approximately $4.5 million to keep three temporary shelters open in Greater Victoria.

As of March 31, the Province has opened 500 additional substance-use treatment and intervention beds throughout British Columbia.
