People and communities along the Fraser River will be better protected from flooding with dike improvements, and enhanced flood-mitigation and watershed-restoration projects.

Local communities, First Nations and specially trained teams have removed significant amounts of large- and small-scale debris from B.C. rivers affected by November 2021 flooding.  

The 2021 B.C. Transportation Contractor of the Year Awards of Excellence, which recognize the contractors behind some of the province’s most important transportation and infrastructure projects, took place on Dec. 3, 2021.

The British Columbia government is lowering speed limits on 15 sections of highway in the province to keep people safer and reduce the chance of speed-related collisions.

Following an intense winter, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is undertaking several improvements to make British Columbia highways safer and more reliable during winter months.

British Columbia's digital infrastructure continued to expand in 2013, including new cellular coverage along highways and upgraded fibre optic connections to schools.
