Premier David Eby has issued the following statement acknowledging the National Day of Observance for COVID-19:

As B.C. continues to fight against threatened United States tariffs of 25% on all Canadian imports, the Province has done a preliminary assessment of potential impacts to the B.C. economy of a trade war with the United States.

Data collected by the Office of the Provincial Health Officer (OPHO) shows sacrifices and protective steps taken by self-advocates, families, home-sharing providers and service providers during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an overall positive health outcome for the population Community Living BC (CLBC) serves.

The Province is tying the annual allowable rent increase in 2025 to inflation at 3%, down from this year’s allowable increase of 3.5%.

Police in B.C. will soon have more tools to enhance their efforts in protecting children online and strengthen abilities to pursue, disrupt and prosecute offenders.

The Government of British Columbia has appointed Dr. Jatinder (Taj) Baidwan to the position of chief coroner with the B.C. Coroners Service.

In response to the provincial health officer’s decision to end the COVID-19 public-health emergency, which ends the COVID-19 vaccine mandate in health-care settings, the Province is making it mandatory for health-care workers to disclose their immunization status as a way to help keep people safe.
