Mitzi Dean, Minister of State for Child Care, has released the following statement marking May as Child Care Month: 

Homes will be in reach for more people in B.C. as first-time homebuyers can now save thousands of dollars more, and new measures are put in place to encourage new home and rental construction.

Premier David Eby has appointed Grace Lore as Minister of Children and Family Development, and Mitzi Dean as Minister of State for Child Care.

Provincial funding for manufacturing is creating and protecting thousands of well-paying jobs for people in B.C. and promoting the development of made-in-B.C. products, with a focus on advancing the value-added wood sector.

Amendments to B.C.’s lumber regulations will open the door for more wood products to be manufactured in the province, strengthening the forestry sector and creating more family-supporting jobs.

New and small-scale farmers will be able to grow their businesses and help strengthen food security in their communities with the launch of the New Entrant Farm Business Accelerator Program.

To attract investment and showcase B.C. mass timber to a global audience, Jagrup Brar, Minister of State for Trade, will lead a trade mission to the United States and attend the International Mass Timber Conference.
