Between June 12 and 16, travellers are advised of overnight closures, detours and delays on McKenzie Avenue and Highway 1 as part of the McKenzie interchange construction.

BC Wildfire Service crews have made good progress fighting the Pantage Lake wildfire, which is burning about five kilometres south of Pantage Lake and 40 kilometres northwest of Quesnel.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations plans to conduct a series of open burns in part of the Prince George Fire Zone to reduce wildfire threats.

Effective at noon on June 7, 2017, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, except in Haida Gwaii and the “Fog Zone”, to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.

BC Wildfire Service personnel will be conducting a prescribed burn in the Hooker Creek area (about nine kilometres east of Crawford Bay) during the month of June 2017.

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a new wildfire about five kilometres south of Pantage Lake and 40 kilometres northwest of Quesnel.

In efforts to protect critical moose habitat and to restore moose populations in the Murphy Watershed near Lac La Hache, the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is proposing an access management plan, which includes blocking and deactivating select roads in the watershed.
