As British Columbia transitions to cooler temperatures and seasonal storms, people are encouraged to prepare for the shift to fall weather, including a series of storms that may bring heavy rain and strong winds to coastal areas, starting Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025.

Farmers in British Columbia will receive support to better protect their farms and animals from extreme weather through the Beneficial Management Practices program.

The Province urges people on the south coast to use caution over the next several days, particularly in the backcountry, as moderate to heavy rain is forecast to start the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 15, 2025.

Safety improvements are coming to Highway 9 on the busy route to Harrison Hot Springs, with drainage and road resurfacing work making travel smoother and building resiliency for the future.

Drivers are advised Highway 1 will be reduced to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound starting tonight, March 27, 2025, at Flood Hope Road in Hope (Exit 165) to address a rapidly deteriorating sinkhole across the eastbound lanes.
