Drivers are advised that Highway 99 at the Steveston Interchange will be closed overnight Wednesday, July 12, 2023, until Thursday morning to allow crews to move heavy machinery across the highway for the new five-lane Steveston Interchange project.

Rob Fleming, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, the Chief and Council of Splatsin, and the mayor and council of the City of Enderby, have released the following statement about improvements to the intersection of Highway 97A and Canyon Road:

A fourth permanent bridge has opened on the Coquihalla, passing the halfway point for the reconstruction project.

Work has begun on replacing two bridges on Highway 3 in the East Kootenays to improve safety and reliability, and deal with rising traffic volumes. 

Piloted convoys will cease on the Highway 4 detour route effective Friday, July 7, 2023, as travel continues to Vancouver Island’s western communities.

The Highway 29 realignment is complete and improves safety and travel times along the corridor.

An important step in breaking the cycle of homelessness in Abbotsford has been completed with the closure of the Lonzo Road and Sumas Way encampment and the start of construction on a new 50-bed shelter.
