Sumas First Nation (Semá:th) and the Province are taking a major step in their shared reconciliation journey through the purchase and acknowledgment of a sacred site.

People will soon have access to more camping opportunities and campsites with new electrical hookups at Lakelse Lake Park’s Furlong Bay Campground.

The Province has approved the use of Taser 7 as an intermediate weapon for all police agencies in British Columbia.

Residents and seniors in Kitimat and Kitamaat Village area will soon have access to high-quality dementia care at a new long-term care (LTC) home being developed at 100 Loganberry Ave.

Violence prevention counsellors will ensure more children and youth receive information about healthy relationships and connect to critical supports if they witness or experience violence at home.  

People will have more opportunities to enjoy multi-use pathways, protected bike lanes, pedestrian bridges and safety improvements as local, regional and Indigenous governments expand their active transportation infrastructure.
