To recognize British Columbia’s third-annual RDSP Awareness Month, and to celebrate that B.C. is leading the way for RDSP education and uptake across the country, Canada and B.C. joined forces to challenge all ministers responsible for persons with disabilities across Canada to take actions to increase Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) uptake in their provinces or territories.

Okanagan-native Cameron McDermid knew from an early age that he liked science but it wasn’t until his final years in high school, with the help of both family and school mentors, that he set his sights on an engineering career. ”Along with my family, who always supported my interest in science, my high school math teacher encouraged me to pursue engineering,” he said.

The Union of BC Municipalities annual convention is being held in Victoria, B.C. September 26-30 at the Victoria Convention Centre. More than 1,800 delegates will attend the annual event that includes workshops, clinics, resolution and debates, as well as speeches from the Premier, Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development and the Leader of the Opposition.
