Environment Minister Mary Polak announced next steps towards developing a Climate Leadership Plan by spring 2016, as she marked the release of the Climate Leadership Team’s recommendations for the B.C. government’s new Climate Leadership Plan.

British Columbia is accepting an invitation to renew its membership with the Climate Group’s States and Regions Alliance, ahead of the international climate negotiations at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in Paris, France next month.

The Province is proclaiming the first-ever Conservation Officer Day in recognition of the important work done by B.C.’s Conservation Officer Service (COS) to protect the environment and ensure both human and wildlife safety.

The initial results of B.C.’s Climate Leadership Plan survey are in, and 92% of participants agree that climate change is a serious issue.

This past summer popular fishing areas throughout the province saw enhanced protection with more conservation officers on patrol – thanks to a generous funding boost of $100,000 from the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
