The Province is proposing to establish a new college of diagnostic and therapeutic health professions to enhance patient safety and quality of care in British Columbia.

In response to the increasing number of overdose-related deaths, the Province is opening additional health-care supports in partnership with health authorities and community partners. Supports include stationing the BC Mobile Medical Unit and setting up overdose prevention sites at overdose hot spots.

In recognition of the upcoming World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, Health Minister Terry Lake has made the following statement:

B.C. paramedics and dispatchers will be getting much-needed support from the provincial government in the face of the province’s opioid overdose crisis, with a $5-million injection of funding for BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).
