The provincial government and Trans Mountain announced a final benefits agreement that will see B.C. workers having priority for construction jobs resulting from Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline project.

The British Columbia government has committed $1.6 million to provide nine support recovery units for individuals suffering from mental-health and substance-use issues in Squamish.

The approval of the long-term water management plan for Mount Polley means the mine can continue to operate providing 350 well-paying jobs in the region.

Fitch has confirmed British Columbia’s AAA credit rating with a stable outlook, due to the Province’s steady economic growth, commitment to fiscal balance and manageable debt burden, Finance Minister Michael de Jong announced today.  

British Columbia’s natural gas sector continues to show signs of growth buoyed by increased investment in infrastructure and a concerted effort to reach markets across Canada, specifically along the Canadian Mainline.
