If you’re entering the market to buy your first home, the B.C. government is launching a new program to partner with you on the down payment for your mortgage, Premier Christy Clark announced today.

Up to 60 British Columbians in Vernon and surrounding areas are receiving the training they need for jobs in their communities, thanks to the federal-provincial partnership under the Canada-B.C. Job Fund Agreement.

Reducing barriers to job success and ensuring more First Nations members can access the skills training they need to acquire sustainable employment are the goals of a training project underway with the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and McLeod Lake Indian Band.

B.C. hotels and resorts with a bar, pub or restaurant on site will soon be able to allow their guests to carry unfinished liquor from their licensed establishment directly to their rooms, a move that provides flexibility for businesses and increases convenience for British Columbians and visitors to the province.
