The Government of B.C. is providing $2.6 million in B.C. Air Access Program funding to support improvements at Kamloops Airport.

The public is reminded that, despite recent rainfall, Category 2 and Category 3 open burning prohibitions remain in place throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre.

A small, local bridge on Kamloops Lake Drive near the west end of Kamloops Lake will be replaced this summer.

Several road resurfacing projects are set to kick off in the Kamloops and Nicola Valley areas, including on Highway 97C in Logan Lake, Highway 8 outside of Merritt and on Douglas Lake and Long Lake Roads.

People in Naramata and surrounding areas may see smoke this morning from a small training burn occurring about five kilometres southeast of Naramata, along the Arawana Forest Service Road.

Construction will soon be getting underway on the Vinsulla passing lane and commercial truck pullout project that will improve safety and the flow of traffic on the Yellowhead Highway north of Kamloops.  

As B.C.’s tourism industry gets set for summer, the Province’s tourism leaders are gathering at Sun Peaks Resort at the annual Tourism Industry Association of British Columbia (TIABC) Annual General Meeting and Summit, May 24-26.

Effective at noon on May 15, 2016, Category 2 and Category 3 open fires will be prohibited throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the public.

Health Minister Terry Lake and Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone officially opened a seniors’ centre community kitchen that will provide meals and showcase cooking skills through food preparation classes.
