The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded a $998,900 contract to Seismic 2000 Construction Ltd. of Aldergrove to carry out the Cowichan River bridges’ seismic safety retrofit project.

A section of the Highway 97 arterial through the City of Williams Lake will be widened from three to four lanes, improving safety within the city limits for local traffic, and increasing the capacity and efficiency for north and southbound vehicles on the highway.

The RBC GranFondo Whistler cycling event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, which is expected to cause significant traffic delays throughout Vancouver, the North Shore and up to Whistler.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is proceeding with an independent technical review of the George Massey Tunnel corridor to find a solution that gets people and goods moving and makes sense for commuters across the region.
