Work is underway on Highway 19 through Nanaimo and Lantzville to improve the road surface and to increase the highway’s climate-change resiliency, making the drive safer and more reliable.

Permanent repairs to the Othello section of the Coquihalla Highway 5 will begin soon, helping rebuild the highway to a more resilient standard following significant damage from November’s storms.

As the B.C. Day long weekend approaches, travellers are encouraged to stay safe on the road by planning ahead, using extra caution and being prepared for higher-than-normal traffic volumes.

Work will begin this fall to upgrade the final undivided two-lane section of Highway 7 to four lanes between Maple Ridge and Mission.

All four phases of the Lower Lynn Improvements Project are complete, providing improved traffic flow and better active transportation options for more than 120,000 daily commuters.
