Premier David Eby has issued the following statement acknowledging the National Day of Observance for COVID-19:

As B.C. continues to fight against threatened United States tariffs of 25% on all Canadian imports, the Province has done a preliminary assessment of potential impacts to the B.C. economy of a trade war with the United States.

New support for manufacturing businesses in the Lower Mainland will create jobs and promote the development of made-in-B.C. products while strengthening local economies and communities.

The Province is tying the annual allowable rent increase in 2025 to inflation at 3%, down from this year’s allowable increase of 3.5%.

In response to the provincial health officer’s decision to end the COVID-19 public-health emergency, which ends the COVID-19 vaccine mandate in health-care settings, the Province is making it mandatory for health-care workers to disclose their immunization status as a way to help keep people safe.  

Dr. Bonnie Henry, British Columbia’s provincial health officer (PHO), has issued the following statement:

Adults at high risk of severe outcomes due to COVID-19 are benefiting from access to nirmatrelvir-ritonavir (Paxlovid) as the Province provides 100% coverage for the drug.

ICBC is providing a $110 rebate to eligible drivers through prudent financial management and better-than-expected investment income.
