Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation, has issued the following statement on the release of Statistics Canada's Labour Force Survey for February 2024:

The Province is creating more opportunities for young athletes to develop skills and participate in high-performance competitions while supporting the social and economic benefits of sport hosting for local communities.

More B.C. businesses will be able to diversify markets for their world-class goods and create sustainable jobs for people with access to tools, resources and training through the creation of a new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Centre of Excellence.

More than 220 B.C. musicians and music companies are being supported by four Amplify BC programs to develop their careers and businesses.

Families with low incomes, immigrants and refugees, and seniors struggling to put food on the table in the Lower Mainland will have better access to healthy and culturally appropriate food with $300,000 funding to the Immigrant Link Centre Society.

People who rely on wheelchair-accessible taxis to get to appointments and connect with their communities will have more options as the Province continues to support the increased presence of accessible taxis on the road.
