British Columbians looking to purchase their first home can apply to the B.C. Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program, which helps first-time homebuyers create secure and stable futures for their families through home ownership.

Environment Minister Mary Polak and Natural Gas Development Minister Rich Coleman issued the following statement following their issuing of an Environmental Assessment (EA) Certificate for the B.C. portion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline Project:

On Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, BC Housing will start accepting applications for the new BC Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program.

Two weeks from today, first-time homebuyers can begin to take advantage of the new B.C. Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program.

New provincial government incentives, along with a forecasted balanced market and continued strong housing starts, will support home purchases in 2017, especially by first-time home buyers.

This was the year British Columbia secured a liquefied natural gas export industry.
