Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction Coralee Oakes celebrated Red Tape Awareness Week by visiting the Prince George Service BC office where local residents now have the option of accessing Service BC on Saturdays, by appointment.

The six-week consultation on reducing red tape for British Columbians is now complete. Thanks to the thoughtful participation from people throughout the province, the B.C. government has received more than 280 ideas from citizens on how to improve service delivery.

The B.C. government has announced Red Tape Reduction Day to be observed every year on the first Wednesday of March reinforcing its ongoing commitment to reduce red tape and administrative burden for citizens and businesses.

We know the clock doesn’t cater to just one time zone when it comes to international sporting events, so government has created flexibility, allowing liquor establishments in B.C. to host early morning screenings – provided no liquor is served.

As wildfires continue to destroy property and force residents from their homes in Rock Creek and Oliver, BC Liquor Store customers can now support Red Cross relief efforts for fire victims by donating in stores throughout the province.
