B.C.’s vision of becoming a global leader in the food processing industry has received a boost with the appointment of the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Anubhav Singh as the province’s first food and beverage innovation professor.

Port Alberni and Surrey will be home to B.C.’s newest regional food hubs, which help farms and food processing businesses innovate and grow, create jobs and strengthen local economies.

Grocery shoppers will have an easier time identifying B.C. products when visiting Safeway stores, as the Buy BC brand will be featured in the retailer’s locations around the province.

British Columbians of all ages can look forward to the return of B.C. blueberries at over 100 White Spot and Triple O's participating locations this summer, as part of a new Buy BC partnership with the restaurants to promote this local ingredient.
