British Columbia has proclaimed Dec. 10, 2013, as Human Rights Day to celebrate the important work being done throughout the province to uphold human rights.

Attorney General and Minister of Justice Suzanne Anton has issued the following statement in recognition of the proclaimed Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women:

Nobody likes a grinch during the holidays, especially on B.C.'s roads. The Province is asking everyone to give the gift of safer roads in their communities.

British Columbians and the Province have come together to raise $3.67 million to support the survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan, the terrible storm that devastated parts of the Central Philippines in early November and people are encouraged to continue to give.

On the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, the Province reiterates its strong commitment to preventing human trafficking and exploitation in British Columbia.

What would you do if your child was abducted and taken to another country? While this may seem unimaginable, for some British Columbians it is an experience they have had to deal with first-hand.
