The Energetic Learning Campus (ELC) at the Pomeroy Sport Centre was officially opened by Minister of Education George Abbott. This one-of-a-kind learning opportunity will see 160 Grade 10 students from North Peace Secondary school studying in a campus-like setting at the centre with access to both community facilities and community members.

A new, $25-million, K-12 francophone school, École au Cœur-de-l'île, has officially opened in Comox. With the recent opening of Campbell River's École Mer-et-montagne elementary, francophone students in the area now have two new state-of-the-art, green, comfortable schools.
