Starting on Oct. 1, 2024, applications will be accepted from child care providers to join the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program, which will create more low-cost child care options for families throughout B.C.

Just in time for the return to school, more families in the Nanaimo region are benefiting from an initiative creating new child care spaces on school grounds.

Families and children living in the Vancouver Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood will benefit from 24 new child care spaces at West Coast Christian Fellowship.

Following a competitive procurement process, Child Care Resource and Referral Centres (CCRRs) throughout British Columbia are expanding to better serve local families and build child care connections in communities.

More families in British Columbia will save thousands of dollars every year as more than 930 child care spaces move into the $10 a Day ChildCareBC program in March and April.

Nanaimo families and children are benefiting from 40 new child care spaces, such as out-of-school care at the Great Futures Early Learning Centre, conveniently located near Bayview Elementary school.

Schools throughout B.C. will get a boost now that more funding is available for upgrades.
