A new, first-of-its-kind pilot program that uses hydrogen to power commercial trucking will help accelerate B.C.’s transition to a clean economy and create new opportunities for people and businesses with the support of provincial funding.

The McLeod Lake Indian Band (MLIB) and the Province of British Columbia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that strengthens their relationship and lays the foundation for a proposed Tse’khene energy transition hub, supporting economic reconciliation and development for the region through the production of low-carbon energy.

The Province and BC Hydro are working with First Nations, clean-energy companies and the BC Hydro Task Force to design and advance BC Hydro’s call for power in spring 2024.
