Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $140,000 to the communities of Summerland and Peachland, Penticton MLA Dan Ashton announced.

BC Wildfire Service personnel continue to conduct prescribed burning for BC Timber Sales this week. The initial prescribed burn operation started on Sept. 26, 2016.

BC Wildfire Service crews will help BC Timber Sales staff conduct a prescribed burn near Clemina in the Clearwater Fire Zone. This 33-hectare burn will be completed between Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 15.

Effective at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, the current Category 2 and Category 3 open burning bans in the Clearwater Fire Zone and Salmon Arm Fire Zone will be rescinded.
