The Facilities Bargaining Association and the Health Employers' Association of BC have reached a tentative five-year agreement under the new Economic Stability Mandate.

Health Minister Terry Lake joined hospital officials, staff, community members and health-care partners to clear the way for construction of the new Teck Acute Care Centre on the grounds of BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.

Early intervention and support for those in their teens and twenties struggling with mental health issues received an added boost with $1 million funding for programs at Coast Mental Health.

A funding boost of $500,000 will expand a program to ensure health education materials are readily available to communities, patients and caregivers throughout British Columbia.

Forty-nine local governments have received BC Healthy Community Capacity Building Fund grants ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 to assist with healthy community planning, projects and policy development.
