People in B.C. are one step closer to accessing expanded health-care services at Royal Columbian Hospital as the project reaches an important construction milestone.

An innovative agreement has been ratified between the Nurses’ Bargaining Association (NBA) and the Health Employers’ Association of BC (HEABC) under the Shared Recovery Mandate that increases wages, introduces workplace reforms, improves working conditions and strengthens patient care throughout the province.

Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, has released the following statement on the Medical Services Commission’s action against Telus Health:

The Medical Services Commission of British Columbia and Telus Health have reached a settlement regarding Telus’s LifePlus program.

The Province is enacting a new regulation effective immediately to ensure that diabetes patients in B.C. do not experience a shortage of the diabetes drug semaglutide, known widely as Ozempic.

People accessing public health care in the Lower Mainland and throughout B.C. are benefiting from stable, consistent and supportive patient care as 142 workers returned to Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) employees on March 31, 2023.

Together, the Province, the BC Nurses’ Union and the Nurses’ Bargaining Association (NBA) have achieved a new staffing model and more supports for nurses to strengthen B.C.’s health-care system and patient care.
