Premier David Eby has issued the following statement on the Coronation of King Charles III, King of Canada and Head of the Commonwealth, and Queen Camilla:

Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, has delivered the speech from the throne, outlining government’s plans to build a stronger B.C. for everyone, while continuing to support British Columbians through challenging times.

Fourteen people from around British Columbia will receive the Province’s Medal of Good Citizenship for their outstanding service and commitment to helping others in their communities.

Budget 2020 moves British Columbia forward by building the infrastructure the growing province needs, supporting thousands of new jobs, strengthening investments in health and education and making life more affordable for everyone.

As part of ongoing work to expand regional collaboration on clean energy innovation, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and B.C. Premier John Horgan announced a joint Clean Grid Initiative and Clean Grid Summit to be held in 2020.

Budget 2019 is creating opportunities for all British Columbians by delivering a new B.C. Child Opportunity Benefit for kids up to the age of 18, removing interest from B.C. student loans, reducing taxes for businesses and investing in clean energy and climate solutions.
