A new B.C. trade and investment representative office in San Francisco is officially open for business, giving B.C. businesses greater access to the U.S. market and investors.

The Government of British Columbia is celebrating a major investment in a Prince George forestry manufacturing facility by Sumitomo Corporation.

Since its launch one year ago, the Export Navigator pilot project has helped 136 small businesses in six B.C. regions grow their businesses through exports, something the Province is celebrating during Small Business Week in B.C., Oct. 16–20.   

British Columbia Trade Envoy to the United States David Emerson was in Portland, Ore. yesterday advancing B.C.’s interests in the ongoing softwood lumber dispute.

British Columbia’s tech sector is positioned for a major boost to its innovation ecosystem with the shortlisting of a local tech consortium for funding from the Canadian government’s Innovation Superclusters Initiative, announced Jobs, Trade and Technology Minister Bruce Ralston.

The Province is contributing to a regional Metro Vancouver bid to play host to Amazon’s second headquarters, Amazon HQ2, which could generate US$5 billion in investment and create up to 50,000 jobs in B.C., announced Premier John Horgan at the UBCM convention today.

The Province is helping more small business owners and entrepreneurs develop export capacity and gain access to new markets by extending the Export Navigator pilot for another six months.
