Along with the United Nations, the UNHCR, the Government of Canada and civic groups in more than 100 countries, the Province has proclaimed June 20, 2016, as World Refugee Day in British Columbia.

The B.C. government announced that it has invested, through the Industry Training Authority (ITA), $323,000 in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 Training Association (IUOETA).

The Province has announced that it has invested, through the Industry Training Authority (ITA), $18 million in British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) for trades training through to March 31, 2017, to meet industry needs and ensure quality training in high-priority trades.
