The British Columbia government is building 280 new homes to provide safe places to stay for women and children fleeing violence, the first major investment in transition housing in more than two decades.

Proposed changes to the Parking Rights Tax will help TransLink fund major transit and transportation improvements to keep people and goods moving quickly, safely and affordably in Metro Vancouver.

Students in British Columbia will have access to more extracurricular activities with support for parent advisory councils (PACs) and district parent advisory councils (DPACs) through the Community Gaming Grants program.  

With the opening of 53 new homes on Royal Crescent in the coming weeks, people living in the Anita Place camp, and others experiencing homelessness in Maple Ridge, will be able to transition into new supportive homes and shelter spaces.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is listening to the concerns of renters and taking action on an early recommendation from B.C.’s Rental Housing Task Force by cutting the annual allowable rent increase by 2%, limiting it to inflation.
