Premier David Eby and Harry Bains, Minister of Labour, have issued the following statement in recognition of the National Day of Mourning:

Repairs to the dome at Science World and other tourism infrastructure throughout B.C. will receive a $50-million boost to keep building the province as a world-class tourism destination.

The Province’s new housing plan will speed up delivery of new homes, increase the supply of middle-income housing, fight speculation and help those who need it the most.

The Province is taking action to address TransLink’s urgent financial needs to protect transit service levels and investment plans, while providing reliable, affordable public transit that connects people to jobs, schools and essential services, enabling the transportation authority to plan for the region’s future.

The Province is providing Metro Vancouver with funding to upgrade the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Richmond, ensuring it can meet the demands of the growing population, while protecting the health of people and the environment. 

Cancer patients and their loved ones will benefit from expanded access to care as B.C. launches a new action plan with immediate steps to better prevent, detect and treat cancers, delivering improved care for people now while preparing for the growing needs of the future.
