Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement about New Year’s Day 2020:

Making life better for people underpinned government’s work in the fall legislative session to tackle climate change, dig into the reasons for high gas prices and uphold the rights of Indigenous peoples in B.C.

A new mobile office pilot program for government workers who live in the Westshore will help reduce congestion, get commuters out of gridlock and give people more time with their families.

To help address the increased need for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the maritime sector, the B.C. government is joining the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority and FortisBC to establish the first ship-to-ship LNG marine refuelling — or bunkering — service on the west coast of North America.

Two B.C. leaders have received top honours for their work on building the Province’s CleanBC plan to fight climate change and put B.C. on the path to a cleaner, better future.

When I think about what child care means for families in B.C., I think of all the patchwork calendars stuck to fridges across the province telling the child care story of each household. The mother-in-law, the uncle and the best friend are on deck this week, and dad will have to leave work early next week. It’s a puzzle of names, dates and times that only the family can understand.
