The Province is permanently doubling the number of subsidized seats for B.C. veterinary students attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) at the University of Saskatchewan.

Students and B.C.’s food industry will benefit from the new Centre for Food, Wine and Tourism once it opens on the Okanagan College Kelowna campus, a centrally located school in the heart of wine country.

With a focus on supporting B.C.’s vibrant technology sector, the new Tech Collider at the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s (BCIT) downtown campus will connect students and industry to solve real-world challenges.   

B.C.’s latest Labour Market Outlook forecasts more than one million job openings in the next decade, showing job and career opportunities that people of all ages can use to map out their education, skills training and career paths.

More people will be able to pursue fulfilling careers in mining through the Skills Roadmap Report, which identifies British Columbians’ future skills and training needs within the mining sector.  

British Columbia is advancing a made-in-B.C. solution to attract more people to trades careers and boost prestige for the sector by moving forward with skilled trades certification.

As the Province recognizes Apprenticeship Recognition Month, British Columbians are encouraged to learn more about the benefits of a career in the skilled trades that offer high-quality, good-paying jobs as well as growth opportunities in numerous fields.

Improving care for people in British Columbia is central to investments in workers as the Province launches a health human resources strategy to optimize the health system, expand training and further improve recruitment and retention.
