British Columbia’s provincewide electric vehicle charging network continues to grow with the completion of 12 charging sites and several more on the way.

The Province of B.C., with the support of the Government of Canada, is taking steps to ensure that people who live and work in northern British Columbia continue to have access to inter-city bus services.

Work will begin next week to resurface interchange ramps along a busy stretch of Highway 99, making the drive safer and smoother for people along this section of highway in south Surrey.

The Chilcotin River and associated tributaries have experienced a one-in-200-year flood event, following more than 90 millimetres of rainfall in the past few days.

The Province has renewed its service contract with BC Ferries for the next four-year term, Performance Term 5 (PT5), which covers April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2024.

The B.C. government is delivering on its commitment to bring ride-hailing to B.C., with regulations in place that will focus on passenger, driver and company safety, and will allow companies to apply to the Passenger Transportation Board by the beginning of September 2019.  

Work will soon start on a new roundabout to enhance safety and improve traffic flow at the intersection of Highway 16 and 37, replacing the four-way stop.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is inviting people to share their experiences with the Province’s highways and services, to make travel better for everyone.

Consultations to help develop mandatory entry-level training for Class 1 commercial driver’s licences will begin this summer.

Lane closures will be in effect on Highway 5, approximately 25 kilometres north of Hope, beginning July 3, 2019, and continuing through to the end of October.
