The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is starting work soon on a $3-million resurfacing project for a 10-kilometre stretch of Chilliwack Lake Road.

The Government of British Columbia is providing $198,750 in B.C. Air Access Program funding to support infrastructure improvements at Bella Bella Airport.

Duncan MacPhail has been appointed as the new commissioner and Michael Crawford appointed deputy commissioner for the Container Trucking Commissioner’s Office.

Effective immediately, the province is expanding its network of where trucks can haul heavy, high value cargo, such as oversized construction materials used in the oil and gas industry.

The new Wildmare Bridge on Highway 97 is now complete, announced Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone. The $4.1-million project is part of the Province’s 10-year transportation plan, B.C. on the Move.

A $17-million project to four-lane Highway 97 south of Taylor is scheduled to get underway next month, as part of B.C. on the Move, the Government of B.C.’s 10-year transportation plan.

The 61-year-old Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 97 north of Prince George, will be replaced with a new structure that can handle oversize transport trucks, as part of B.C. on the Move, the Government of B.C.’s 10-year transportation plan.

As part of B.C. on the Move, the Province’s new 10-year transportation plan, the ministry is investing $24 million over the next three years in the new B.C. Air Access Program to support B.C. airports.

The provincial government has made a commitment to resurface approximately 28 kilometres of highways and roads in the Ashcroft and Cache Creek area in 2015.
