BC Ferries is poised to enter its next four-year performance term, beginning April 1, 2024, with a focus on improved capacity and reliability, buoyed by a $500-million investment from the Province to keep fare increases down.

A new comprehensive transportation strategy for the Central Okanagan between Lake Country and Peachland examines a range of projects that will help connect people with their communities, promote affordability, support the economy and the movement of goods, and create a cleaner environment. 

Traffic is moving well and safety has been improved for residents and businesses south of the Fraser River following the completion of the Highway 91/17 and Deltaport Way Upgrade Project.

The Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 project is nearing completion and the final construction push this fall requires the full extended closure of Highway 1 for two periods totalling 17 days.

Work to improve the road surface on the north approach to the Lions Gate Bridge will happen this month, with nighttime lane closures necessary over two consecutive weekends, beginning Sept. 15, 2023.
