The first year of the Government of British Columbia’s 10-year transportation plan has resulted in upgrades to transportation infrastructure around the province, helping to grow the economy and improve safety.

The Province released an updated design for the McKenzie interchange project that includes new details on noise mitigation, environmental enhancements, as well as additional features for cyclists, pedestrians and transit users.

The Province remains committed to facilitating an agreement between Canadian Pacific (CP), the community of Golden and local rafting companies that would allow visitors to enjoy the 2016 rafting season.

British Columbia is marshalling emergency management resources to assist neighbouring Albertans who have fled the devastating wildfires that have displaced 88,000 from their homes.

The project to improve safety and pave Tuck Inlet Road, which provides access to the community of Lax Kw'alaams near Prince Rupert, has gone to tender.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises motorists that Highway 97 from Sexsmith/Old Vernon Road to Edwards Road in Kelowna will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday, April 30 to 5 a.m. Sunday, May 1 while utilities work is conducted as part of the six-laning along this corridor.
