An open burning prohibition has been in effect in the Southeast Fire Centre since July 8 and will remain in effect until Sept. 20 or until the public is otherwise notified.

Effective at noon on Aug. 26, 2013, the campfire ban in the Coastal Fire Centre was rescinded due to a decreased risk of wildfires. Campfires now will be permitted throughout the Coastal Fire Centre.

Effective at noon on Monday, Aug. 26, campfires will be permitted throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre.

Effective at 12 noon on Wednesday, Aug. 21, campfires will remain prohibited in all areas of the Kamloops Fire Centre except the Clearwater Fire Zone.

Effective at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, campfires and Category 3 open fires will be permitted in the following areas of the Coastal Fire Centre: from Courtenay north on Vancouver Island and on the Mainland from Hotham Sound north.

Effective at noon on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, campfires and Category 3 open fires will be permitted in the geographic area of the Mount Waddington Regional District.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, all campfires and most open fires will be permitted across the Northwest Fire Centre's jurisdiction.

Further to the campfire ban that came into effect Tuesday, Aug. 6, effective at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9 2013, the following are exempted as noted:

Effective at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 9, the Cariboo Fire Centre will extend its campfire ban to the northwestern portion of the region.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, all open burning (including campfires) will be prohibited in the Nadina, Bulkley and Skeena Fire Zones, with the exception of the former North Coast Forest District within the Northwest Fire Centre's jurisdiction to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.
