The Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5) between Hope and Merritt has reopened in both directions following a closure caused by the Mine Creek wildfire.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit is now leading efforts to safely reopen Bamfield Main Road, in co-operation with Mosaic Forest Management.

People using handyDART services in Fort St. John will see improved and expanded travel options with the introduction of additional hours of service on Sundays from September 2025.

The Province of B.C. is lending its expertise to Mosaic Forest Management as it develops plans to reopen the Bamfield Main Road, sections of which were rendered unsafe due to the Mt. Underwood wildfire.

Drivers are advised to plan for upcoming traffic-pattern changes along Highway 1 near 264th Street.  

Drivers are advised that left turns onto Steveston Highway from Highway 99 northbound and southbound may be restricted due to paving activity.

Two overnight closures will take place on Highway 1 at Tank Hill, located approximately 14 kilometres east of Lytton, to allow for the placement of deck concrete on the new overpass structure.
