Homelessness. Unemployment. Isolation. How can B.C. bring new solutions to address these common, complex social challenges?

Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson issued the following statement in recognition of International Day of Forests:

The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, representing 14 First Nations along the west coast of Vancouver Island, has been awarded $96,200 to establish and operate a tsunami debris cleanup program.

Communities throughout the province will benefit from a half a million dollars in B.C. government funding to help non-profit cultural organizations, First Nations and friendship centres improve local arts infrastructure.

An investment of $2.4 million by the provincial government is helping adult learners around the province improve their reading and writing skills by providing them with the help they need in their home communities.
