Delays of approximately 30 minutes are to be expected during the busy summer season while safety improvements are constructed through the Malahat Village, and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure encourages drivers to allow for extra travel time.

Drivers are advised that Highway 1 will be closed overnight between McKenzie Avenue/Admirals Road and Six Mile Road to ensure the safety of drivers and construction crews while the old pedestrian-cyclist bridge is removed.

All travellers, including drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, are reminded that McKenzie Avenue will be closed while construction crews install the new Galloping Goose Trail bridge as part of the McKenzie interchange project.

The Trans-Canada Highway west of Revelstoke is currently closed in both directions, after debris blocked a channel on Camp Creek sending water and other material flowing over the highway.

The Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt is expected to remain closed in both directions well into the evening, and possibly overnight, following an incident involving a burning semi-trailer truck carrying dangerous goods.

Beginning Tuesday, May 23, motorists travelling the Coquihalla Highway over the summer are advised to expect delays, due to two major road and bridge construction projects between Hope and Merritt.
