More local people working in local jobs. That’s what the Gitxsan Nation hopes to achieve as a result of a provincial Labour Market Partnership project with the Gitxsan Development Corporation.

As part of the Province’s work to make sure British Columbians have access to high-quality primary care, 11 internationally trained physicians will begin practising in rural and remote communities in British Columbia, including a new family doctor in Campbell River.

New training programs funded by the B.C. government will help Gitxsan Nation members improve their job readiness and find new career paths in the emerging liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. 

The provincial government is targeting $1.5 million to fund 183 new health-education spaces at nine public post-secondary institutions to meet the demand for the delivery of health care in communities throughout British Columbia.
