BC Public Service employees who led the emergency response to devastating floods and wildfires, advanced reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and improved safety on Highway 16 are among those honoured with this year’s Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards.

With BC Bus North preparing to launch on Monday, June 4, 2018, the Government of British Columbia is pleased to confirm that more payment options will be available than originally announced.

One year into the Highway 16 Transportation Action Plan implementation, approximately 5,000 people have used BC Transit’s new, expanded transit service to travel between northern communities safely, reliably and affordably.

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Claire Trevena has issued the following statement on the appointment of Catherine Holt as the new BC Transit board chair, and Wendal Milne as a new director, beginning in December 2017:

New transit services will start running on Nov. 20, 2017, connecting the northern communities of Terrace with the Hazelton area, as part of the B.C. government’s Highway 16 Transportation Action Plan.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, annual bus passes will be available to people on disability assistance through a new transportation supplement.
