The Province is taking action on climate change by setting sectoral greenhouse gas (GHG) targets to guide emission reductions, and supporting people working in B.C. industry and clean tech with investments in new projects to reduce emissions.

B.C. municipalities and businesses building their light-duty fleets of electric vehicles (EVs) have access to new rebates and supports for charging infrastructure through CleanBC’s Go Electric programs.

In partnership with the Government of Canada, the Province and BC Hydro are reducing rates and lowering the costs of connecting to the electricity grid to help industries, public transportation agencies and neighbourhood energy systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions and attract new clean tech industries to British Columbia.

B.C. businesses wanting to reduce air pollution and save on fuel costs can access more in provincial rebates through the CleanBC Specialty-Use Vehicle Incentive (SUVI) and Commercial Vehicle Pilot (CVP) programs.

People in northern B.C. will benefit from improved air quality when a remote mine switches to a clean energy source, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution, while creating good, clean jobs.

People working at a mine in B.C.’s southern Interior will be the first to pilot a new high-powered electric trolley system for large mine-haul trucks, reducing pollution, increasing the use of clean energy for mining and creating cleaner economic opportunities for people.
