Three months after reopening the Brule Mine, Conuma Coal Resources Ltd. (Conuma Coal) has started hiring ahead of its planned Jan. 2, 2017, restart of the Wolverine Mine near Tumbler Ridge.

2016 was a year of historic investments in transit for Metro Vancouver. It began with a commitment by the Government of British Columbia for approximately a quarter of a billion dollars ($246 million) over three years for significant transit improvements and expansions in Metro Vancouver.

Up to 1,713 British Columbians in B.C. towns and cities will receive the training they need for local jobs, thanks to the federal-provincial partnership under the Canada-B.C. Job Fund Agreement.

Construction has finished on a road rehabilitation project to improve access through the Tseycum First Nation west of Sidney. The project fulfils a commitment made by the Province through the Tseycum First Nation West Saanich Road Reconciliation Agreement, signed in 2012.
