Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone has released the following statement on adding an additional seat to the Victoria Regional Transit Commission, and appointing Sooke Mayor Maja Tait to that role:

Plans are in motion to explore improved transit service for the Sea to Sky corridor – a growing region that the B.C. government has identified as a priority area for expansion.

The start of construction on the much-anticipated Highway 1 Admirals Road/ McKenzie interchange on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Victoria has begun. This, just over a year after it was first announced.

Plans to upgrade Kamloops Transit’s full fleet of busses to compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles that come with modern features like Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) received the green light from city council after a successful pilot that showed these busses to perform well in all four seasons while garnering significant savings in operating costs.
