A peak in the North Shore Mountains is being named in honour of a long-time leader of British Columbia’s search and rescue community and commemorates his work as an advocate for backcountry safety.

Improvements along the Trans-Canada Highway to reduce delays and increase safety continue in areas near Revelstoke. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Todd Stone provided updates on projects that include avalanche control and the implementation of speed reading technology.

Drivers can expect the following delays on the TransCanada Highway, 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke, as crews work to install the Remote Avalanche Control Systems.

Several repaving projects, including the resurfacing of over 60 kilometres of Highway 23N, will soon be underway in the Revelstoke area, bringing smoother roads and a more comfortable ride for local motorists, cyclists, tourists and industry.
